Honky Tonks, Senggigi, Lombok

In Senggigi, there’s a place called Honky Tonks that’s great for vegan eating. They’re open from 3pm to midnight, Wednesday to Monday, and stay open until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.  Since the explorers were only staying one night in Senggigi and arrived in the evening, they wanted to find vegan food.

The staff were really nice and could speak English well. They understood what the explorers wanted to eat.

The food they ordered was vegetarian nasi goreng (without egg) with crispy fried tempeh. They also got tami cap cay, which is a mix of vegetables in tasty sauce, along with fried noodles.

The meal wasn’t too expensive, tasted really good, and filled them up nicely. It was a perfect way to end a long day of travel.

The highlight of their meal was the ‘nasi campur’, a dish that changes its components every day. In their version, they got rice, urab salad, tofu, tempeh, eggplant curry, sweet corn fritters, satay, spicy sauce, and different imitation meats.

What’s surprising is that two big servings of ‘nasi campur’ and two lunch boxes filled with tasty food for later only cost 65,000 IDR, which is about $4.50 USD. The fact that it’s so affordable makes this place even more special, and it leaves a strong memory on the taste buds and the hopeful hearts of the people who eat there.

Located on Jalan Pariwisata Pantai Kuta, right in the heart of Kuta, Lombok, Yogi Bar is a must-visit for food lovers. The place is open every day from 8 am to 11 pm and offers a perfect blend of delicious flavors and a relaxing atmosphere.

The travelers heard about Yogi Bar from the Happy Cow platform and its inviting beachside setting, so they decided to give it a try. However, there was a mix-up with the location on Happy Cow’s map, which led them in a different direction. Despite the confusion, they didn’t give up and eventually stumbled upon the restaurant after they had already had their lunch. Interestingly, Yogi Bar wasn’t actually situated by the beach as they had thought. It was prominently placed on the main street. The place looked charming and welcoming, with a menu that featured several vegan options. One of the highlights was the vegan nasi campur, which included flavorful red rice.
